If you’re familiar with ServiceNow you’re likely familiar with the annual Knowledge conference. If you aren’t familiar, you’re missing out!
Knowledge is a week-long opportunity to network, build, code, learn, share and have an absolute blast with people from around the world. And this year was no exception! With all 7 APPOXIANS on-board we departed snowy Calgary for sunny Las Vegas.
Our first stop? Gordon Ramsey’s pub for an amazing team meal followed by a stop at our favourite duelling piano bar for a toe-tapping good time and of course a few sing alongs.
Our second stop? Top Golf! And now you’re thinking… do these APPOXI-PEEPS even work!? Of course we do – we just know how to have a good time while we’re doing it! Lessons learned at Top Golf? Mike is a golfer; Frank is not. Breanne has a mean swing. Nicole may be an underdog but she’ll come out on top. Luke is a total shark when it comes to Shuffleboard. Terence cheats when he plays bean bag toss.
Our third stop was the K19 conference for the first keynote session of the week which was followed by the annual CreatorCon Hackathon competition. And this is where the real fun went down!
The CreatorCon Hackathon is an 8-hour competition where teams compete to build an application on the ServiceNow platform. We put together some brilliant ideas and GONOW was born, an emergency evacuation solution. The app is comprised of a visitor sign in component, an integration with Twilio allowing people to check in during an emergency using SMS and one sexy interface. We had a great time putting the app together as a team and loved seeing everyone that stopped by to cheer us on!
The fun didn’t stop there. In fact, it continued for the next three days and may or may not have included a round of rides on a mechanical bull. All in all it was a fun filled, productive week and we’re pumped for K20 in Orlando next year.
K19 was awesome and we built a sexy app.
Nah, of course you aren’t.
